What makes a global citizen? (In class)

When someone admitted that “I’m a global citizen”. It means that they are aware of wider world and have a sense of their own role as a world citizen. In my opinion, to become a global citizen, there are three qualities to focus on it: having an understanding of all issues in society, paying contribution to the community, taking their responsibility for their action.

First, having an understanding of all issues in society make you have a main motivation for taking a profound interest in learning more in many fields, such as: economy, politic, culture, technology, and environment. Since then, they try own best to enrich basic knowledge through material right at school as well as develop other skills: problem solution, teamwork, leadership by taking part in club, volunteer programme or donation organization. Besides, they also equipped with two important key to access easily to acquiring information. Computing skill and knowing a foreign language, English, are tools of approaching the worldwide problem from every angle.

Second, participate and contribute to the community at a range of levels; from local to global. Global society is mostly experienced at the local level. Global citizen will have a deep commitment to and responsibility for the public life in their living area. For example, they should express a great sympathy for the unlucky people who have a life of trials and tribulations around them .Then, sent appeal to the involved organization and benefactor to asking for social welfare .It makes a better life in their neighborhood. There is a maxim like that:”think globally, act locally”. It reminds us that we are a part of a large system.

Finally, taking responsibility for action is one of qualities to become a global citizen. It means everyone has a right to a living standard which is adequate for health and well-being and the right to security in the disappointed event such as: unemployment, sickness, retirement. It is right of human beings. It is assurance to take responsibility for ourselves and other people that character us as citizen.

In conclusion, becoming a global citizen step by step having three above qualities is a meaningful thing. Their action is making the world a more maintainable place.

CLASSIFICATION OF TEACHING STYLES (IN CLASS)
Educationist is a specialist in the theory and methods of teaching. They always find out many strategies to develop the activity and skill being taught as well as learners’ ability. So, at present there are three popular teaching styles applied in school and depends on motivation, age and learning environment: instruction, demonstration, and appliance.

First, instruction is the most basic methodology in teaching. The teacher makes most of the decisions and use command style ensuring all students do the same thing. For example, when teaching a new skill, the instructor becomes a sole transformer of information to their students. This method is useful with presenting a piece of instructions, questions students commonly, and provides periodic summaries or main important point through unfamiliar lesson. It is good for teaching specific facts and basic skill.

Next, demonstration method is a psychological methods and students take active interest in teaching learning process. For example, after learner has seen a presentation that is live, exciting teacher has a responsibility of showing learner a model performance that match or pass what student did seen before. Since, teacher performs the experience at his own speed; many students are able to comprehend the concept being clarified. If teacher have a good demonstration, it allow student to form a model in their memory and.
Last, application to practice situation is the best method of teaching .When using this method, teacher expects students to practice the skills in planned condition .It spends  a lot of time on focusing on learning about the facts involved in related sciences at home. Such application discussion, debate, role –play are typical of this method nowadays. The students make most or all of decisions in what are usually problem-solving type activities. The application depicts the acknowledgement of important of students’ interaction.

In conclusion, the role of teacher as well as teaching strategies become very important  as they are ones who mould students in right way. These motivate students to do better, encourage them to participate in extra curriculum activities. Mark Van Doren : “the art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery.
